We arrived at the chalet - really nice. we had an early start the next day and did our first ski session with Matt then went to the gym to do some stretches.

The first couple of days have been great, everyone gelled immediately and the few weeks set to be good. People are exploring and getting to know all the places to have a good lunch and a beer...Bring on the next few weeks.

21st February 2008
We're halfway through our second week now and things have started to head up as we're doing our BASI Level 1. 1st week went quickly with training and evening entertainment to be had in abundance. The group settled in quickly and after a couple of days it seemed as though we'd known each other for weeks. A real bonus to us all settling in have been the previous trainees who have welcomed us as part of the group and showing us the best places for a beer....
Last weekend was to relax and unwind and I personally took that a bit far on Saturday night while my lie in on Sunday was rudely interrupted with a snowball in my bed at 2pm ...
Tomorrow we step things up a notch with teaching our first lesson to the group, but I'll leave the next update to someone else as I'm off to watch Arsenal vs AC Milan so I'll have to say ciao...

10th March 2008
It's the end of the 4th week and everyone is enjoying the fresh snow that arrived over the past few days. Training has taken the form of piste performance which has provided a welcome break from central theme! Nights out are still as hectic as ever with a set routine of places to visit each time people hit Verbier!
3 of us ventured to Bruson on Thursday to explore the empty powder covered pistes and also tried their hands at tree skiing with mixed results as the snow looked a lot deeper than in reality!

Sunday 25th November 2007
All the guys arrived throughout the day to be welcomed to the chalet with Lucy's amazing baking...chilled out afternoon. We met Mhairi the group leader and Julian from European Snowsports as well as the 3 BASI trainers...plenty to take in, but sounds like a great week ahead. Sun is shining and pistes are empty...

Week 1 - discovery of accommodation, slopes and nightlife
Arrival to Le Chable on very wet dark night – immediate priorities were set out, gear for tomorrow – 10 minutes, then off to Le Rosbif . The 23 strong group gelled instantly and banter was flying within 5 minutes. Woke up with a sore head the following morning to first day’s instruction, the glorious sunshine, snow and fresh mountain air cured all. The next couple of days were to improve our theory of skiing and ‘central theme’
Within a week we had passed our BASI level one. By the end of the first weekend we had already made a name for ourselves in Verbier and laid the foundations for the rest of the season’s partying. Snow fell on Sunday and Monday much to everyone’s delight. Will update on this week’s progress.

Friday 4th January 2008
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Our training is going well, both of our skiing is improving a lot, which is great news!! I hope you had a great Christmas, we had fun, we went sking Christmas morning and had a light lunch on the mountain. In the evening we joined our friends for an eventful Christmas Dinner. Boxing day we took the cable car up Mont Fort, the highest point in Verbier to enjoy the views of Mont Blanc, Matterhorn and loads of other peaks then we skied back down!
The group have spent the last 2 weeks shadowing the ES instructors - we now really feel part of the team. We meet and greet the clients and if they are happy for us to shadow the trainer, spend the day absorbing the lesson being given...only 4 weeks till BASI 2...can't believe how fast it's going.....

Not so long till BASI Level 2!!
Hi, with a recent fall of fresh powder and a constant beam of sunshine the team is pulling out all the stocks with some hard training in preparation for the BIG week, the BASI 2 exam.
Each morning we are all up bright and early preparing for our morning training sessions then with a quick lunch we hit the slopes for individual training. if a couple of us have the same problem be it short turns or snow plough we help each other out and give our opinions and try and accumplish that afternoon our goals. with this amount of determination BASI wont know whats hit them!

Week 1 of our BASI Level 2. We were all pretty nervous at the thought of the next 2 weeks. We met Steve Ricketts our trainer, who seemed really nice, but told us the next 2 weeks not a holiday...shame as Mardi Gras was getting into full swing in town!
1st week was how to improve our piste performance, short turns, short turns and more short turns!! He said we were good at high speed! 2nd week was back to basics...intense snowplough sessions and towards the end of the week I think we were all pretty nervous.
6th February 2008
100% pass!!
We've just had the debrief from Steve and all the group that finished today have passed! We now just need to pick up our European Snowsports jackets...as we've all been offered jobs! And maybe stop by the Apres-ski for a celebratory drink or 2...Can't believe how quickly the course has gone!
